Come to Dinosaur Park Open Houses to meet paleontologists, learn about Maryland prehistory, and search a real fossil quarry for 110 million-year-old fossils.
FREE Open Houses are on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month from 12 noon to 4 pm. Programs start every 20 minutes. The fenced fossil area is only accessible during Open Houses and by appointment. The unstaffed garden and play area are open daily from sunrise to sunset.
A dinosaur-themed activity room is located at Montpelier Mansion, a short drive from Dinosaur Park. Kids can assemble giant 3-D dinosaur puzzles, create craft projects, and more. Please call Montpelier Mansion at 301-377-7817 for current hours and information.
Education and School Programs
Come to Dinosaur Park for your next field trip! Our programs are designed to meet Maryland science standards. Each visit begins with a guided tour of the site, followed by hands-on activities and an opportunity to search for fossils. Please make reservations at least one month in advance. Program fee ($300 resident, $390 non-resident) must be paid two weeks in advance of program date. Group size is strictly limited to 40 participants.

Location and Directions
Dinosaur Park is located off of Contee Road in Laurel, at the end of Mid Atlantic Boulevard.
From the DC area, take the Baltimore-Washington Parkway to Route 197 (Laurel-Bowie Road). Turn west on Route 197. Turn left onto Contee Road. Turn left onto Mid Atlantic Boulevard. Dinosaur Park is at the end of the road.
From Baltimore, take I-95 south to exit 29A for MD-212 E toward Beltsville. Continue onto Ammendale Road. Turn left onto Baltimore Avenue, then right onto Contee Road. Turn right onto Mid Atlantic Boulevard. Dinosaur Park is at the end of the road.
