Community Centers and the M-NCPPC Youth ID CardAt M-NCPPC’s 44 community centers, it’s FREE and easy for youth to get in on the fun. M-NCPPC Youth ID cards, which provide access to community centers and many of their amenities, including drop-in activities, are FREE to county residents ages 6-17. Xtreme Teens Weekend ProgramThe Xtreme Teens Weekend Program gives kids ages 13-17 something fun to do every Friday and Saturday night from 7-10 pm at community centers countywide. The centers are open only to teens at these times, offering a variety of exciting recreational, educational, and cultural programs in a fun, laid-back environment. All your child needs to participate is his or her FREE M-NCPPC Youth ID card.
Programs and ClassesFrom fashion shows to poetry workshops, and inter-center basketball leagues to volunteer opportunities, the Department of Parks and Recreation offers young people a multitude of enriching activities.
Search for classes or sign your child up for sports leagues through SMARTlink, the Department’s online registration system. You can also search online for youth volunteer and service learning opportunities.
Park SystemWith more than 375 developed parks in the county, there’s a sports court, athletic field, picnic area, trail, golf course, playground – you name it! – near you. Use Find a Park to locate a beautiful park for your family to explore.
