Personal Safety and Self-Defense All young women should know how to protect themselves. That’s why The Department of Parks and Recreation offers the R.A.D. (Rape Aggression Defense) System. It’s comprehensive, female-only, and empowers young women with realistic self-defense tactics and techniques. The course begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, then progresses on to the basics of hands-on defense training.The next class begins Saturday, July 9 and runs for 4 consecutive Saturdays.
